Pillar of Love

Ye though I walk through the shadow of the valley of death
I shall fear no evil for thou art with me
Your power, oh Lord, casts away all evil
Your love, oh Lord, breaks free light in a mind of confusion and darkness
While in your arms of strength
I am shielded from all harm
While rested on your shoulder I am whisked away to our secret place of pure joy and solitude
No harm finds me when I am surrounded by you, oh Lord, my strength and shield
I am continuously immersed in your ambiance of peace

LIFE LESSON:Lion King

Posted by Meik Dekine on Thursday, April 23, 2009 In : revelation
Lion King: Scar's jealousy led to contempt for his brother, Mufasa, and his status within his society led him to betray and kill Mufasa.

~So often we allow the desires of our flesh to cause us to turn our back on our "brother" and even kill him [metaphorically speaking]. We get jealous, desiring his blessings and belongings. We live in hate and contempt so much that we begin to forget that God gave us each the power of life and death. We take that power and we cut down and belittle our broth...

Some Light...

Posted by Meik Dekine on Thursday, April 23, 2009 In : revelation
I think it's funny how the "light" of the world does not shine. As we drove to Florence today, we joked about how all the strip clubs and "toy" stores were all lit up bright. Sadly, we did admit that we used them as landmarks to let us know that we were on the correct road to school. We passed a church on the way back. Yep, you guessed it, it was dark. To be honest, I do not remember seeing that church, or any church, on the way to school {especially none lit up}. How sad is it that what ligh...

Genesis 8:22

Hold out, and

Hold on.

Lest your blessings,

Harvest, be postponed.

No forest of trees can be,

If first there is no seed.

Living an age of twins,

Dull wheat for sake of wheat, choked roots of sin,

As long as we live there shall be day and night,

As long as we progress, victory and plight.

Seek no retirement from a job not finished,

For everlasting life, first the pulse of the One without blemish.

To the fields to labor,

Then reap the favor.

To present the blessed as blessing,

A...

Elevators

Posted by Meik Dekine on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 In : Growth
It's interesting how elevators work. Like right before the doors open on your floor there is a dip that occurs. That can definitely apply to life:

Elevators are like the transitional stages in our lives. They get us from one level or stage to the next. Just how elevators can hold more occupants than just yourself, so can the transitional periods. Sometimes those people are transitioning to the same level as you, and other times they may not. In life when we encounter people in our transition...

About Me

I am basically a thinker. I spend a lot of time thinking about life and spirituality. I am a writer and very thankful unto God for the gift. I am usually shy and quiet, especially when it comes to strangers and speaking about things that God places in my mind to contemplate. I am a firm believer that we, as Christians, have a requirement to express Christ openly. I hope my writings inspire you to express yourself and God's place in your life.
